Dear Creative

Zechariah 4:10 says "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin".
Sometimes when it comes to creativity we downplay the very gift from God.
Genesis 1:1 says "In the beginning God CREATED the Heavens and the Earth" so in Genesis 1:26-28 when God made us in his own image you know what he deposited, "creativity"!
I have been so sure that the way I need to honor God is being a singer, minister or evangelist. In actuality, my creative expression honors God in the same manner that a preachers sermon does.
One of my favorite scriptures is "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven". My good works could be drawing, painting, writing, making cups, blankets and t-shirts. These works still glorify the Father.

When I was a teenager my mother used to write plays for church. She would have full scripts and wardrobes and we would perform for Holidays like Black History Month, Christmas, etc. She would also occasionally preach at the church. What I realize now is that her creative expression in scriptwriting was honoring God just as mush as her sermons.
This month I will be turning 33 and I have finally decided to allow my creative expressions to speak for me and for the God that I serve. I wanted to empower others to do that same.
What creative expression are you ignoring?
Did you know your creative expression honors God?
How do you feel when you operate creatively?
