What if you died today...

I've been reading more news articles and I am consistently reading of a young person dying. It shakes me a little different now-a-days. At 31, I look at things differently. My mom has a saying:

"I have spent more years living than I have left to live..."

As true as that may be, what are we doing with this knowledge? We spend more, eat more, travel more, but do we live with more intention? Do we aspire to inspire others with the time that we have left to live?

I asked myself, "What if I died today..."

Do I feel accomplished?

Did I use my time wisely?

Did I right my wrongs?

Do the people I love, know that I love them?

...

When I stopped to think about it, it isn't the career, money or fame that goes with you...

It's who you were to the ones closest to you that really matters.

I thought, maybe when I speak to my family and friends I could come with intention as if every phone call could be my last phone call. How would that encourage me to speak to them? What would that inspire me to tell them?

This life is so fleeting, we must take each minute more seriously. May it be impressed upon your heart to live each day like it was your last. Not in a self-righteous, indulgent way but in a

make-my-life-count way.
