You have a talent too!

If you've stopped by this blog a time or two, I would gather you saw something you like. I do enjoy writing and have been trying to hold myself accountable to get these blogs out to you more consistently. What I realized is that something that comes natural to me is also something that takes dedication for me to be consistent.

You'd think if I enjoy writing I would just write, right? No! I talk myself out of it ALOT. I have a whole list of topics that have been dropped into my Spirit and yet the content is not prioritized in my head. It was just this week that I realized:

Even if it is something that you love to do, Consistency isn't easy.

I was scrolling on Instagram on an artist's page lately. I wouldn't consider drawing and painting a strong skill for me, but I LOVE art. So, I find myself looking at artists work and thinking "if I could paint I would have so much artwork". It's the same as it pertains to singers. I think to myself: "if I could sing, I would never stop". Well, I found that to be untrue. God whispered to me, all talents take consistency and consistency is a choice. Whew what a bomb on me.

I felt so small in that moment.

I realized; it was easier for me to look at someone else's talent and claim what I would do with that instead of having the honesty to say, "I haven't given my own talent the consistency, effort and development that it deserves".

So, of course I thought about you.

The singer

The seamstress

The artist

The writer

The designer

The poet

The planner

The dreamer

Whatever your talent is.

How are you cultivating it?

How are you committing to consistency?

How are you developing it?

Or, like me, are you trying to convince yourself you aren't as good as other writers, singers or artists?

Whatever the case, let this be a reminder that your talent or skill is just as important as that artist that has a million followers, because it is yours and someone needs to see it, hear it, read it, or touch it but they never will if you never start. let this be a reminder that your talent or skill is just as important as that artist that has a million followers, because it is yours and someone needs to see it, hear it, read it, or touch it but they never will if you never start.
