Create Your Space

I was at Starbucks recently being extremely productive and I thought to myself “why aren’t you this productive at home”…

I realized , I hadn’t created a special place for my creativity to flow. Even when I got up early I was heading to the couch, kitchen table or floor and realized it wasn’t the type of space I needed. When I’m working on my writing, poems, books or blog I need a space free of distractions.

As a remote worker I thought I could use my office desk for multi-use but as soon as I would sit there I would begin thinking about work so, that didn’t work.

Unfortunately , I don’t have the flexibility to go to Starbucks every time I need to zone in. I drink their coffee enough already! I needed to have a space within my home that provided the environment I needed.

So, I ordered a desk! 40 dollars and a Wayfair shipment later I had a desk for my new space.

I decided I wanted a hourglass timer on the desk to help me stay focused without the distraction of my phone. I purchased a “mindful” candle to help me focus and I set it in a perfect space in my bedroom.

Since I’ve created my space I have been more productive at home. I was going to Starbucks the other day to work on my book and then remembered, I had the perfect set up at home. No matter what your creative expression you must create your special place! It won’t always work out the first time, sometimes you must adjust until you can find the perfect space for you. I promise, it’s worth it! Your creativity deserves it!
